My love for rallying started with my father. At the age of two he had me watching VHS tapes of the 1988 British Rally Championship and the 1994 World Rally Championship. Both featured Didier Auriol, and apart from mother or father, those were my first words. How sad.
After studying at university I became National Rallying Editor at Motorsport News in June 2015 until I took my current job in September last year.
I love all eras of rally history and spend most of my weekends in a forest watching rallies and reporting for Motorsport News and Autosport. Nothing makes me prouder than to be representing such esteemed publications.
Any other spare time I spend dreaming up ways to make Tony look silly on Absolute Rally.

Grew up around the family garage in North Yorkshire and with parents that both rallied it was inevitable I would follow suit!
Spectating on rallies from being a baby, I started co-driving at 14 and driving on rallies from 17 after a year of auto testing.
I have now been rallying for over 25 years and also keep a keen interest in the sport at club level with as a committee member of the Whitby & District Motor Club.
The day job really depends on the day! Organising events, presenting and product training for car manufacturers leads to a varied programme through the year along with regular driver coaching for those looking to improve their rallying skills.
Things I do : Over 20 years I have worked in the world of motorsport at various jobs the list is to long for here! I have presented British Rallycross for Eurosport and covered the Historic Championships for Motors TV a good few years ago. I have done a few podcasts in my time also!
Favourite rallycar: Peugeot 206 WRC or Renault Megane Maxi

I feel in love with rallying at the age of 8 and never looked back! It took another 14 years to be in apposition to do an event. Over the last 20 years I have worked at various rally schools and worked closely with Pennti Airikkala at his ‘Left foot braking school’ for a period. I’ve been lucky enough to drive a Volkswagen Racing UK car in the British Rally Championships in 2002 and 2003. We also did 4 rallies for MG Sport and Racing in 2005 before they went bust. (no it wasn’t my damage bill!)
I have also been lucky enough to win a couple of championships along the way (although not as ‘posh’ as Ryan Champions! )
